Happy Birthday Amartya Kumar Sen
I took this picture of Amartya Sen during his visit to Rhodes University in 2004. Amartya Kumar Sen is an Indian economist, philosopher, and a winner of the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences (Nobel Prize for Economics).
In recognition of an international scholar remarkable not only for his intellectual accomplishments but also for his deep humanity, Rhodes University honoured Professor Amartya Sen with an honorary doctorate in Law.
