On the first morning after arriving at Mazeppa Bay, I woke up at 4:30am and wandered down to the beach, over the shaky Mazeppa Bay bridge, onto the island. There I waited patiently for the sun to rise and welcome me to what was going to be an unforgettable holiday!
There is something soothing and graceful about the rolling hills of the Trasnkei – it really is one of the most beautiful places in South Africa that I have traveled to!
These cows just sit there and chill. Some stand, some lie down. It seems like an odd phenomenon, one which I’d really like to be enlightened on. Anyone out there understand the behavior patterns of the Transkei Cows?
Thank god for the high-tide to clean up this mess!
I’m going to be posting a lot of cow images during the next following weeks, purely because I was mesmerized, during my latest travels to the Transkei, by the cows in the region – they sleep, walk, and chill on the beaches, something I have never seen before!
