On hearing that I live in South Africa I have time and again been asked by zee germanz if I live among the wild animals…hmmm

So here is the proof. I live less than two kilometers away from where I took this picture, so yes (Jawohl!) I do live in the midst of Africa’s fiercest beasts! ☺

To avoid confusion amongst the Lederhosen, this picture illustrates the Johannesburg skyline and the new-ish AngloGold Lion enclosure at the Johannesburg Zoo.

Even thou this Gorilla was seemingly more irritated by the shouting kids pointing at him, the image could suggest that he’s being mocked by what looks like a shadow puppet…and it seems like he’s ready to charge any second!

Lucky for the kid, this kitty cat isn’t too hungry today!

These are exactly the kind of pictures I love taking, when a variety of scenarios present themselves and create a surreal moment in time.

This Serval cat was lying peacefully in the corner of its enclosure. I couldn’t figure out what it’s “disorder” was, but it did look very, very sad. – so did the little kid looking at it through the glass pains.
